Bear Grylls (born Edward Michael Grylls on June 7, 1974 in Donaghadee, Northern Ireland) is a British adventurer, writer and television presenter. He is the star of the television series Born Survivor: Bear Grylls, or Man vs. Wild, as it is known in the U.S. He is also the youngest ever and current Chief Scout/head of The Scout Association, which is an adventuring organization in the UK.

Grylls is the song of politician Sir Michael Grylls. He attended the University of West of England, and learned to climb, sail, skydive and fight karate in his youth. He married Shara Cannings Knight in 2000, and they have three sons named Marmaduke, Jesse and Huckleberry.
