Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce kept their weekend in Kansas City, Missouri, going by enjoying a low-key, PDA-packed date night at a local steakhouse. The 34-year-old NFL star, however, showed off a nice set of wheels by driving the pop singer, 33, in his Rolls Royce on October 23.
The Argentine restaurant, Piropos, typically closes at 9 p.m. but stayed open to accommodate the couple, Daily Mail reported. Taylor and Travis had the full place to themselves. After dinner, they were seen walking to his car holding hands, and — in perfect gentlemen style — Travis held the car door open for Taylor before they drove away to his house, per the outlet. Taylor’s security team and three Kansas City Police Department cars followed them while driving away.
For the romantic evening, the athlete and the Grammy Award winner opted for dark, comfortable clothes. Taylor appeared to be wearing an all-black outfit while Travis wore a dark blue tracksuit, according to photos published by the outlet.
One day earlier, of course, Swifties were ecstatic to spot their favorite pop star in the crowd at her fourth Chiefs game. She even shared a handshake with Brittany Mahomes to celebrate a strong play made by the team. Following the successful game, Taylor was seen planting a kiss on Travis’ cheek in an Instagram photo, which appeared to have been taken at a party.
Taylor and Travis’ relationship has blossomed over the past several weeks but has received an overwhelming amount of attention. Since October 22 was Taylor’s fourth time attending a Chiefs game this season, cameras have been zooming in on her reactions to the delight of her fan base. Others, however, simply want to watch the football games without the constant “Traylor” buzz.
Kelly Clarkson recently came under fire by some who apparently misunderstood a comment she made last week on The Kelly Clarkson Show. The “Since U Been Gone” hitmaker, 41, noted that the Taylor and Travis coverage is “not hilarious how it is literally taking over the NFL for people that like watching sports now.”
“It’s like you’re watching [The Real] Housewives while you’re watching,” she joked. Kelly received backlash for her joke but followed up in an Instagram statement, denying that she dissed Taylor and Travis.
“Do not fall prey to clickbait, trash reporters twisting the facts again,” she wrote. “I am pro-romance. Yay romance. Did y’all even watch what I actually said on my show? I just said I want to watch football when I tune in to watch football. Seems an appropriate request. OK, carry on. Go, Cowboys! [sic]”
While Kelly meant no harm with her on-air joke, Travis previously pointed out that he thought the NFL was “overdoing” its coverage “a little bit” of Taylor attending his games. However, this hasn’t stopped them from continuing to see each other whenever they can.
