Gigi Hadid has a new do’ that over three million of her fans approve! The new mom, 25, debuted her “fresh cut” and curtain bangs in a new Instagram selfie on Wednesday night. As for her reason behind the hair change? — “Fresh snow fresh cut,” Gigi captioned her post, in reference to the powerful snowstorm that blanketed the Northeast, including Pennsylvania, New York, Philadelphia and New England. Fans of the supermodel know that Gigi has spent all of quarantine on her mother’s farm in PA, and she was most recently spotted strolling her daughter around New York City on December 15.
Gigi’s new bangs and fresh cut are courtesy of Alejandra “Alie” Hernandez — a Los Angeles based hairstylist and makeup artist with Tesler Salon. It appears as though the hair expert made a special trip to the east coast to update Gigi’s luscious long locks. Hernandez showed off the finished product in a repost snap on her personal Instagram account, which included a shot of the snow that covered New York on Wednesday night.
While Gigi opted not to dye her blonde-brown hair (like she has in the past on the runway), her decision to go with curtain bangs is a big deal. Why, you ask? — The face-framing layers give the model a completely different look. Additionally, they add more excitement to a traditional top knot, like she demonstrated in her new selfie.
Gigi, who welcomed her first child with boyfriend Zayn Malik in September, recently returned to work, where she gave fans insight into her new balanced life as a mom and model. “Would say back to work, BUT bein [sic] a mamma is a job like no otherrrr,” she captioned a filtered, silent video on December 3. She added, “BACK IN THE OFFICE.” Though, it’s unclear what she was shooting for.
The Victoria’s Secret beauty put her modeling career on hold for the majority of 2020, due to her pregnancy, which she announced in April.
