Porsha Williams stepped into her family legacy during the Dec. 6 season premiere of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, when she tirelessly lent her voice and efforts to the Black Lives Matter movement. Speaking out against systemic racism, Porsha attended two different protests a ran away from rubber bullets as the core four — Porsha, Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, and Cynthia Bailey — kicked off Season 13, but her passion about fighting for justice later landed her and 87 other protesters in jail for 13 hours.

Even so, Porsha had no regrets about getting arrested in Kentucky. “As disgusting as that place was, being inside that cage with [30 other women] actually changed my life,” Porsha said during her private confessional. “I’ve never shared my soul with people that I had just met. And we were sharing it because a soul [Breonna Taylor] had been lost, which was so ironic about the whole thing.”
Porsha then went on to say that her biggest takeaway from the experience is that she’s “going to do it again”, unapologetically.
Meanwhile, a few of the other ladies were dealing with relationship drama amidst the initial outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. For Cynthia Bailey, who was busy planning to marry the man of her dreams, Mike Hill, she had to make some tough decisions. Either she could postpone her wedding altogether or do what Mike wanted to do, which was to scale down the guest list so they could make the event safer for everyone. But Cynthia couldn’t imagine getting married in front of a smaller crowd, and that upset Mike because he worried that Cynthia was more excited for the wedding than the actual marriage.
As for Kenya — she revealed that her fairytale romance with Marc Daly continued to be on the rocks after a difficult year. Even though they got to a better place, following his initial ask for a divorce last year, Kenya revealed that coronavirus just made everything worse for them. Kenya told Cynthia and Kandi that they had been separated for several months, and he stopped putting in any effort, so they urged her to “pull the plug” and finally end her marriage. But Kenya didn’t seem totally on board with that idea just yet.
