Britney Spears is celebrating her 39th birthday with unreleased music! The songstress, who marked the milestone on December 2, gifted fans a never-before-heard song from her 2016 Glory era. The track titled “Swimming In The Stars,” which was recorded during the sessions for her 2016 album, was unearthed by RCA records in honor of her birthday. It was written by Matthew Koma, Dan Book, and Alexei Misoul and features Britney’s unmistakable pop vocals, as she sings: “So let’s go/Swimming in the stars tonight/And we’ll go/Shimmer in the diamond lights/We’ll dive in/Headfirst, all the way down/In gravity’s arms we’ll drown/The world is ours.”

Fans of the early 2000s icon haven’t heard new music from the singer in years. Nevertheless, it feels like just yesterday that she burst onto the scene as a kid, and shot to superstardom with her debut album, Baby One More Time. While on a career break, Britney has proved she’s super into working out and staying fit and spending quality time with her beau, Sam Asghari, 26. The pair traveled to Hawaii for an early birthday getaway, and documented their cliff jumping adventure while on the trip.

“Only magic here,” she captioned the fun post. The “Gimme More” singer also shared more vacation snaps, including two selfies with Sam and another pic of the couple posing by a private jet after touching down on Maui on Nov. 16. Despite the happy appearances, many fans took to the comments section with worried messages in the wake of the singer’s intense conservatorship battle with her father, Jamie Spears. A judge reportedly declined Britney’s request to kick her dad off the conservatorship of her estate, which our sister publication Variety reported on Nov. 10. During the conservatorship hearing, Britney’s attorney Samuel D. Ingham III reportedly told the judge that Britney refuses to perform “as long as her father is in charge of her career,” since she is allegedly “afraid” of him.
