Because you don’t know when you’re going to make new ones, so you should probably just keep the old ones,” Zayn told Billboard when asked what he acquired from being a member of One Direction. Alright, well, that’s an interesting way to answer the question, Zayn! But, nonetheless, it looks like the X Factor competitor is at least a little sad that he’s no longer working with the pop group anymore. It’s no lie that Zayn was incredibly close with fellow singers Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. After the group first started touring in the U.S. in 2012, Zayn stuck with them for 3 years until leaving to pursue his own music in 2015. That’s a lot of time to solidify some pretty strong friendships!
This tiny bit of regret is sadly overshadowed by Zayn’s admittance that the guys will no longer talk to him. On top of that, Zayn, who’s into more R&B style sounds, openly dissed the band saying their music was never his thing. “The other boys’ taste was generally indie rock. It’s good music, but I don’t f— with it. That was never cool where I was from.” Wow!
