Zayn Malik On One Direction’s New Album: He Didn’t Buy It Because Of ‘Perfect’ – Hollywood Life

Zayn Malik Slams One Direction’s ‘Perfect’: ‘I Didn’t Buy The Album’ After Hearing It

Eek. The bad blood between Zayn Malik and his former group, One Direction, keeps boiling. In his revealing new interview, the Bradford bad boy reveals he didn't even buy their last album. Zayn Malik, 22, doesn't have many nice things to say about One Direction in his Billboard interview, which is their featured cover story for January 2016. When it comes to their latest album, the first he's not featured on, Zayn reveals he opted out of buying his own copy.

When Zayn left One Direction in March 2015, he promised fans that he would remain friends with the remaining four for the rest of his life. Unfortunately, as his Billboard interview reveals, that just isn’t going to happen. The interview took place just about two weeks after Made In The A.M. was released, and Zayn didn’t hold back when asked what he thought about the group’s new music.

“I’ll be honest, I thought the first single was quite cool,” Zayn starts, referring to “Drag Me Down.” But, he continues, “I heard the second single and — yeah, I didn’t buy the album.” Ouch. That’s way harsh, Zayn.

The person who interviewed Zayn for Billboard even shared that Zayn “screwed up his face” when he mentioned the second single, showing his real opinion of “Perfect” — the track many believe is Harry Styles‘ ode to his romance with Taylor Swift. Later in the interview he even goes as far to say that 1D’s music was “never cool.”

It’s a real bummer to hear Zayn talk down about One Direction, especially since they worked together so well for so long. However, what he said about Made In The A.M. is nothing compared to him calling the guys out for changing their numbers and not returning his calls.
