Bio:
Louis C.K. (born Louis Székely on September 12, 1967 in Washington, D.C.) is an American comedian and actor. A year after being born in D.C., Louis’s family relocated to Mexico City, where he lived for the next 7 years before they returned to the US. As he grew up in Boston, Louis discovered he wanted to become a comedian, citing Richard Pryor, Steve Martin and George Carlin as influences. Louis started his stand-up career at an open-mic night in 1984. He developed his craft during the following decades, becoming a respected presence on the stand-up scene. He performed his act on numerous television programs, including Evening at the Improv and Star Search. In 1996, he had his fist HBO comedy special. He also has worked as a writer on shows like Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and the Chris Rock Show. His writing for the Chris Rock Show won an Emmy award for Best Writing In A Variety of Comedy Series in 1999. Louis also wrote and directed the cult classic film, Pootie Tang, as well as several other short films. In 2006, Louis had his first television show, Lucky Louis. It was cancelled after its first season. Three years later, he would return to television in the FX series, Louie. The show had received critical acclaim and has nominated Louis three times for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead in a Comedy Series. In 2011, Louis would self-release his fourth full length special through his website, cumulating over $1 million in just under two weeks.

Personal Life:  
Louis is the son of Mexican and Irish parents. He has three sisters. He was roommates with comedian Marc Maron during the early start of their careers. Louis is the first comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden three times on a single tour. Louis married artist Alix Bailey in 1995. They had two daughters together before they divorced in 2008. In 2017, five women came forth to accuse Louis of sexual harassment, including masturbating in front of them. He would confirm these accusations in a statement, saying that they were “true” and he was “remorseful” for the pain he caused.
