Bill Skarsgard (born Bill Istvan Günther Skarsgård in Vällingby, Sweden on August 9, 1990) is a Swedish actor. He first received critical acclaim when he was nominated for a Guldbagge Award due to his lead role in Simple Simon. Bill became even more recognizable after starring in the murder-thriller series Hemlock Grove from 2013-2015. The actor landed his first major American film in 2016, when he portrayed Matthew in The Divergent Series: Allegiant. Bill was then cast as Pennywise the Dancing Clown for the 2017 film It, which was made popular by the best-selling Steven King novel in 1986.
