All good (and truly wild) shows must come to an end. Riverdale’s series finale aired in August 2023. See the cast then and now.

Riverdale aired its first episode on The CW on January 26, 2017, and became a global phenomenon. The series catapulted the show’s stars — KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Madelaine Petsch, Vanessa Morgan, Casey Cott, Charles Melton, and Cole Sprouse — to stardom. Riverdale’s fans have rallied around these characters and chosen sides when it comes to Barchie, Varchie, Bughead, and more.

From on and off-set relationships to tragic deaths, the show’s cast has gone through so much. The cast was devastated by the sudden death of Luke Perry, who played Fred Andrews, Archie’s dad. Luke died in 2019 after suffering a stroke.

In March 2022, The CW announced that Riverdale would end after 7 seasons. The show had a thing for truly wild storylines. The series finale aired August 23, 2023. Take a look at the Riverdale cast then and now.

Lili Reinhart As Betty Cooper

Lili Reinhart played Betty Cooper. Betty started the show as an innocent young girl dating Jughead Jones, played by Cole Sprouse. Cole and Lili dated for several years during the show’s run.

Riverdale was Lili’s first breakout role. She’s since had notable roles in the movies Hustlers, Look Both Ways, and Chemical Hearts.

Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones

Cole Sprouse played Jughead Jones, the broody journalist of the bunch. The role of Jughead marked Cole’s return to acting after a long hiatus. Cole and his twin, Dylan, attended college after their Suite Life of Zack & Cody days. 

Cole is a talented photographer and has shot for Vogue, Elle, and more. He had a leading role in the film Five Feet Apart. His next role after Riverdale is the movie Lisa Frankenstein.

KJ Apa has played leading man Archie Andrews since day one. Over the years, Archie has fallen in love, seen the highs and lows of high school football, fought a bear, and more. 

KJ was a fresh face when he began starring in The CW series. He’s since had roles in movies like A Dog’s Purpose and I Still Believe. He released his debut solo album in 2021. That same year, KJ welcomed a son with Clara Berry.

Camila Mendes’ Veronica Lodge has always been a fierce and fashionable character. Veronica has always had her hands full, whether it be defeating her evil father Hiram Lodge, or starting her own casino in town.

As for Camila, she has made quite a name for herself in Hollywood. She’s had memorable roles in Do Revenge and Palm Springs. One of Camila’s upcoming roles is the drama American Sole with Bad Bunny.

There will never be another Cheryl. Madelaine Petsch’s performance as Cheryl Blossom has been iconic. Cheryl has always kept the town of Riverdale on their toes, and she’s not afraid to hit people with a razor-sharp one-liner. 

In addition to Riverdale, Madelaine has starred in a variety of films, including the rom-com Hotel for the Holidays. The actress has a busy schedule lined up. She’s set to star in a remake of the horror movie The Strangers.

Casey Cott’s Kevin Keller has always been a sweet and supportive character to his Riverdale friends. He’s been the voice of reason amongst the friend group and often mediated situations.

The role of Kevin was Casey’s first major TV role. He’s an immensely talented singer. In August 2023, Casey made his Broadway debut as Christian in Moulin Rouge! He married girlfriend Nichola Basara in 2021.

Vanessa Morgan’s Toni Topaz started off as the Serpent Queen of the Southside Serpents. She quickly became a fan favorite. Toni and Cheryl’s relationship has been one of the most beloved ‘ships of the show. 

Vanessa had been acting for years prior to her Riverdale role. She’s set to have a voice role — along with co-star KJ Apa — in the animated Ghostbusters: Ecto Force series. She gave birth to her son in 2021.

Charles Melton as Reggie Mantle started off as just a jock but then teamed up with Hiram Lodge in some sketchy business ordeals. He dated Veronica Lodge (and also Camila Mendes in real life) and became one of Archie’s closest pals. 

The 2019 film The Sun Is Also A Star was Charles’ first feature film. He also appeared in the 2020 film Bad Boys For Life. The actor is currently getting Oscar buzz for his performance in the film May December, which will be released in November 2023.

Skeet Ulrich As FP Jones

Skeet Ulrich starred as FP Jones, Jughead Jones’s dad. FP was part of the Southside Serpents but became the good guy in the end while dating Betty’s mom, Alice Cooper. Skeet left the show ahead of season 5. 

Skeet’s casting was a major draw for viewers. The actor is best known for his role as Billy Loomis in Scream. He recently reprised the role in Scream 5 and Scream 6.

Mädchen Amick played Alice Cooper, Betty Cooper’s mom. Her character changed immensely throughout the show. Alice and Betty’s relationship went through many highs and lows, but the love between them always prevailed. Alice’s relationship with FP in the earlier seasons was a highlight for fans. 

Mädchen got her start in the cult classic series Twin Peaks. She reprised her role as Shelly in the 2017 revival season. She directed several episodes of Riverdale during its 7-season run.

Marisol Nichols starred as Hermione Lodge, mother to Veronica and wife of Hiram. She was involved in her husband’s sketchy business deals. Marisol was a series regular for the first 5 seasons. She appeared as a special guest star in seasons 6 and 7.

During Riverdale’s run, Marisol has starred in several films, including holiday TV movies like Christmas CEO. Aside from acting, Marisol has gone undercover to help stop sex trafficking.

Mark Consuelos played the evil but charming Hiram Lodge, father of Veronica Lodge, for 4 seasons before saying his final goodbye to the show during the season 5 finale.

Mark got his start on All My Children, which is where he met wife Kelly Ripa. They have 3 children together. After Ryan Seacrest’s departure from Live! With Kelly & Ryan, Mark became his wife’s official co-host in February 2023.
