The ‘Vampire’ artist’s sophomore album isn’t as sour as her first, and its lyrics have guts.

Olivia Rodrigo took the music industry by storm in 2021 when she came out with her first album, Sour. Now, the Grammy Award winner’s second album, Guts, has been released, and its songs feature bombshell lyrics.

If calling an unnamed ex a “g****n sociopath” in “Good 4 U” wasn’t enough, Olivia blasts another unknown person in “Logical” as a “master manipulator.” According to the track’s lyrics, the Disney+ alum accuses an ex of consistently lying to her.

‘Bad Idea, Right?’ — Perhaps the most jaw-dropping lyric, however, is in the single “Bad Idea Right?” which came out one month ahead of Guts’ release. Throughout the song, Olivia playfully recalls hooking up with a former boyfriend. In the second verse, she says, “And I told my friends I was asleep / But I never said where / In his sheets.”

‘Like a Total Machine’ — In “All-American B***h,” Olivia derides societal expectations in American life, including women being “built like a mother and a total machine.” Another verse in the track features her singing that she’s “got class and integrity / Just like a goddamn Kennedy.”

‘In His Sheets’ — Apart from the memorable line “in his sheets,” “Bad Idea Right?” also includes the lyric, “I just tripped and fell into his bed.” It’s a cheeky line for sure!

‘Fame F—ker’ — Olivia released “Vampire” on June 30 alongside its accompanying music video. The single is about an apparent ex lover who Olivia “loved truly” and “sold [her] for parts.”

‘My Jealous Eyes’ — “Lacy” starts out as Olivia seemingly complimenting someone with “eyes white as daises” and an “angel.” However, she hints that this person put her through “the sweetest torture.”

“And I despise my jealous eyes and how hard they fell for you,” she sings in the outro of the song. “Yeah, I despise my rotten mind and how much it worships you.”

‘Social Suicide’ — “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl” is an ode to insecurities. Similar to “Brutal” and “Jealousy, Jealousy,” Olivia opens up about self-consciousness.

“I broke a glass, I tripped and fell,” the chorus begins. “I told secrets I shouldn’t tell / I stumbled over all my words / I made it weird, I made it worse / Each time I step outside, it’s social suicide / It’s social suicide / Wanna curl up and die, It’s social suicide.”

‘I’m Playing the Victim’ — Olivia admits her own faults in “Making the Bed,” such as “pretending” to be older and pushing away “all the people who know [her] best.”

“I’m so tired of bein’ the girl that I am,” she exclaims in the chorus. “Every good thing has turned into somethin’ I dread / And I’m playin’ the victim so well in my head / But it’s me who’s been makin’ the bed.”

‘Master Manipulator’ — “Logical” begins with a bombshell: “Master manipulator / God, you’re so good at what you do.” The song is an emotional ballad about a failed relationship.

‘Loser Who’s Not Worth Mentioning’ — Thought fans got a glimpse at this phrase in the music video for “Bad Idea Right?” the lyrics appears in the song “Love Is Embarrassing.”

‘You’re Only 19’ — Not to be confused with Katy Perry’s hit single, Olivia’s “Teenage Dream” is a slow and heart-wrenching song about growing up.

“I’ll blow out the candles, happy birthday to me,” the chorus begins. “Got your whole life ahead of you, you’re only 19 / But I fear that they already got all the best parts of me / And I’m sorry that I couldn’t always be your teenage dream.”
