Kristi Noem has climbed the ladder of the political world for years. After representing South Dakota’s at-large congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2011 to 2019, she was elected governor of South Dakota. But in 2025, Donald Trump chose her as his new Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
In early 2026, Kristi was fired from her post at the DHS. Outside of her political career, Kristi is also a farmer, rancher, author, mother and wife.
