Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock shared two kids and seven years of marriage. Look back at their relationship after his 2025 passing.
Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock got engaged in December 2012 after dating for over a year. The Grammy-winning singer shared the happy news on Twitter, writing, “Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever.” The couple tied the knot less than a year later in an intimate ceremony at Blackberry Farm in Tennessee in October 2013.
Just one month after their wedding, Kelly announced she was pregnant with their first child. The couple welcomed daughter River Rose on June 12, 2014. A year later, in August 2015, Kelly revealed she was expecting again—this time with a baby boy. Their son, Remington Alexander, was born on April 12, 2016.
Though the couple largely kept their relationship private, their split in 2020 came as a surprise. Kelly filed for divorce in Los Angeles on June 4, 2020, citing irreconcilable differences after nearly seven years of marriage.
In August 2025, Kelly shared that Brandon had been privately battling a serious illness, prompting her to postpone several Las Vegas shows to support their children. He sadly passed away shortly after her announcement at the age of 48 following a private fight with cancer.
