Born in Uxbridge, UK on Feb 15, 1951, this stunning actress first caught the public’s attention on the hit TV series The Onedin Line in 1972. But it was her role as the psychic Bond girl Solitaire in Live and Let Die the following year that really made her a star. The star, who has both an Emmy and a Golden Globe, would find another generation of fans as Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman in the 90s.

Jane’s talents have taken her far beyond Hollywood, too. She’s a proud founder of the Open Hearts Foundation, a talented author, and a creative force behind the Jane Seymour Designs label, which offers everything from jewelry and scarves to furniture and sculptures. And with four marriages and four children, this talented star has truly lived life to the fullest.

She talked about her early days in Hollywood during her acceptance speech. “I was thinking this morning about when I first came to California,” she recalled. “I gave myself six weeks to make it in this business. The day before the six weeks was up I got my first job and then I couldn’t get a work permit and I thought that was it, I’m going back, Hollywood will never be for me. I remember walking along these streets and looking at these stars and just thinking, you know, that’s for other people, that will never happen to someone like me.

But Jane was destined for stardom. She gratefully went on, “I’m just astounded that I have the privilege of being one of these and of realizing that the United States of America has given me an extraordinary career and have really welcomed me with open arms. The fans here and the fans from all over the world have made it possible because of their love and attention and because of the fact that they watch my movies”
