Let’s toast to the most business-savvy celebs we know! The alcohol industry is basically never not booming, so stars have always loved investing in wine, beer, or spirits brands. Whether it’s a smooth whiskey, or a glass of rosè, A-listers have really cornered the beverage marker.

One Hollywood drink mogul is Kendall Jenner, here with her 818 Tequila. She launched the brand in May 2021 with three expressions: a blanco, an añejo, and a reposado. Here, she shows off a glass of her agave spirit in the distillery on Nov. 30, 2021.

Who doesn’t want to share a drink with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson? He launched Teremana Tequila in 2019. At the time he proudly declared it “the new gold standard of ultra-premium tequila.”

Talking about his passion for tequila with Us Weekly in Aug. 2022, he said, “I’ve always loved tequila and wanted to create a brand that is rooted in responsible sourcing. I love that the tequila brings people together. It’s brought me close to everyone I work with and drinking tequila is such a social activity, so it’s a product I’m happy to put out into the world.”

Diddy was one of the earliest celebs to get into the drink business with the vodka brand Cirôc. Though it was founded in 2003, the spirit brought Diddy on to market and promote Cirôc in 2007. It was an “equal-share venture,” leaving the brand’s profits to be split between Combs and owner Diageo.

Nick Jonas collaborated with designer John Varvatos on Villa One Tequila, which they launched in 2019. They worked in partnership with alcohol bigwigs Stoli, known for their vodka. The project branched out to the bar business when it announced the impending opening of the Villa One Tequila Garden in San Diego. The project is slated for Fall 2022.

Jay-Z is the co-owner of the D’usse VSOP cognac, along with Bacardi. The brand is beloved by rappers and some special bottles have fetched high prices on the auction block. A one-of-a-kind crystal bottle crafted in honor of Jay-Z’s 50th birthday was auctioned by Sotheby’s in New York for over $50,000, according to the auction house.

Bethenny Frankel’s food empire started with just ready-to-go margarita mix! She first released Skinnygirl Margarita in 2009, leading to a range of Skinnygirl cocktails. The success of the drinks lead to low-cal candy, deli meat, sweeteners, popcorn, and salad dressings. She sold the cocktail line to Beam Global for $120 million in 2011.

Robert De Niro founded VDKA 6100 back in 2014. He collaborated with with Australian spirits company the Artisan Spirits Merchants. Talking to the Wall Street Journal about the business, Robert said, “I was approached by some people who wanted to do a whole product campaign, which was a very tasteful, terrific idea. I said that I would be part of the whole thing but I just don’t want to say, ‘pay me, thank you, and goodbye.'”

Talking about their partnership in Apr. 2022 with VinePair, the pop star said, “The spirit industry has been male-dominated for some time, so I’m passionate about changing that and I’d like to think we’ve helped make progress by having female leadership and setting a new example for how the industry can move forward.”
