- Leo Woodall plays Jack in ‘The White Lotus: Sicily’.
- He’s from West London.
- He was in a movie with Tom Holland.
Leo Woodall, 26, is the unexpected breakout star of The White Lotus season 2. Fans have been loving everything they’ve been seeing from Leo, including his butt! His scene-stealing moment happened at the end of episode 5, when Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) finds Leo’s character Jack having sex with his supposed uncle, despite romancing Portia (Haley Lu Richardson). There’s clearly a lot more going on with Jack than fans thought.
So, who is Leo Woodall? Here’s five things to know about the handsome The White Lotus: Sicily star.
1. Leo plays Jack in ‘The White Lotus’.
When fans meet Jack in The White Lotus 2, he’s a charismatic young man from Essex who is in Sicily with his rich gay uncle, Quentin. They start hanging out with Tanya and Portia which leads to a romance between Jack and Portia. But after the shocking events in episode 5, fans are suspicious of Jack and his intentions with Portia.
Ironically, Leo has said that he’s nothing like his White Lotus character. “I’m a very sensitive boy,” he told W Magazine. “There’s not really much we have in common, to be honest. But I definitely enjoyed diving into the reckless side in me.”
2. He didn’t want to be an actor.
Leo comes from a family of actors and performers, but he wanted to go in a different direction in his career. “I wanted to be a PE teacher or a stuntman,” he said in the W Magazine interview. Leo revealed he changed his mind about acting when he saw an episode of Peaky Blinders when he was 19. He said he was “really scared” to tell his dad, who was an actor, that he wanted to join the industry, but his father supported his decision.
3. He’s British.
Leo is British in real life, like his The White Lotus character, but he’s from West London, not Essex. “There’s definitely a lot of people that I know from Essex. My stepsister’s from Essex, so it was fun to lean into that,” he said to Vulture.
4. He did a movie with Tom Holland.
Leo had a small role in the 2021 film Cherry with Tom Holland. Most of Leo’s scenes were cut, however, because he “had a cough in a spit,” he said in the W Magazine interview.
5. His next project is an Amazon Prime show.
Leo is set to star in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video sci-fi series Citadel, created by Anthony and Joseph Russo who directed Cherry. They also directed several Marvel films including Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The series stars Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra and is expected to premiere in 2023.
