The Below Deck Down Under adventures are continuing with season 2. Harry van Vliet is one of the new stars of the second season, which premiered on July 17. He’s joined Captain Jason Chambers aboard the M/Y Northern Sun.

Harry is a new deckhand in Below Deck Down Under season 2.

Harry joins Adam Kodra as the new deckhand of season 2. Harry has 3 years of yachting experience, so he’s dealt with his fair share of charters. “I loved it. It’s an adventure boat,” Harry told Bravo about being aboard the M/Y Northern Sun. “The guests were here to see the Great Barrier Reef and Australia. That’s an adventure!”

Harry is from Australia.

Harry’s hometown is Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. The M/Y Northern Sun will be chartered through the waters of Cairns, Australia. While Cairns is quite the distance from Bondi Beach, Down Under is familiar territory for Harry.

Harry is an outdoors guy.

Being a deckhand, you’ve got to enjoy the outdoors. When he’s not on the board, Harry loves scuba diving, surfing, wakeboarding, and camping. He’s a true Aussie adventure man.

Harry is also a scuba instructor.

In addition to his work on yachts, Harry works as a PADI scuba instructor. Back in June 2023, Harry noted in an Instagram post that he was approaching his PADI instructor exam.

Harry may get caught up in some relationship drama this season.

Chief Stew Aesha Scott hinted at a “love pentagon” in Below Deck Down Under season 2. “Laura [Bileskalne] wants Luke [Jones], who wants Margot [Sisson], who wants Luke and Harry, and then Adam [Kodra], I don’t even know. It’s just this cesspool of desire….This season is very much in contrast to season 1, where there was very little romance,” Aesha told TV Insider.
