Jack White’s personal life is back in the headlines. The rocker, who was previously married to his White Stripes bandmate Meg White and later to model and singer Karen Elson, married fellow musician Olivia Jean in a surprise onstage wedding at Detroit’s Masonic Temple in April 2022.
Now, more than four years later, White and Jean are making news again after she filed for divorce in June 2026. The filing marks the end of a relationship that grew out of a longtime professional partnership, with Jean having worked closely with White through Third Man Records for years before they became romantically involved.

Who Is Jack White’s Wife?
Jean is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer from Detroit who is best known as the former frontwoman of The Black Belles. She has been closely associated with Jack White’s label, Third Man Records, since 2009 and has released several solo albums, including Bathtub Love Killings, Night Owl and Raving Ghost.
How Did Jack White & Olivia Jean Meet?
White and Jean first met in 2009 after Jean left a demo CD at a concert by White’s band, The Dead Weather. Impressed by her music, White invited her to Nashville, where he helped launch her career through Third Man Records. Jean later formed The Black Belles, a band produced by White, and the two maintained a close professional relationship for years before eventually becoming a couple.
How Long Were Jack White & Olivia Jean Together?
While the pair kept much of their romance private, reports indicate they were friends and collaborators for years before their relationship turned romantic around the mid-2010s.
They got engaged and married onstage during White’s concert at Detroit’s Masonic Temple on April 8, 2022, in one of rock music’s most memorable surprise weddings. Their marriage lasted just over four years before Jean filed for divorce in June 2026.
Why Are Jack White & Olivia Jean Divorcing?
According to court documents filed in Nashville on June 3, 2026, Jean cited both “irreconcilable differences” and “inappropriate marital conduct” as grounds for the divorce. The filing alleges that White’s conduct made “further cohabitation unsafe and improper,” though no specific details about the allegations have been made public.
Jean is also seeking alimony, continued health insurance coverage and beneficiary status on White’s life insurance policy. Neither White nor Jean has publicly commented on the filing.
