Black Swan was released on Dec. 3, 2010, and became one of the most unforgettable films of the decade. The psychological ballet thriller was gripping, visually stunning, and left us captivated until the curtains closed for Nina Sayers in Swan Lake. Natalie Portman’s performance was simply, as Nina Sayers would say, perfect.

The film, directed by Darren Aronofsky, received 5 nominations at the 2011 Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Natalie won the Oscar for Best Actress. Natalie Portman, 39, played Nina Sayers in Darren Aronovsky’s film. Natalie completely transformed into Nina in a career-making performance. Natalie, while pregnant with her first child, won her first Oscar for Best Actress because of her riveting portrayal of a ballerina’s descent into madness.

Following Black Swan, the actress was notably cast as Jane Foster in Thor. She returned for the sequel, Thor: The Dark World. She earned another Oscar nomination for playing former First Lady Jackie Kennedy in the 2016 film Jackie. Natalie’s Thor character will be a female Thor in the upcoming Marvel film Thor: Love & Thunder, which is gearing up to start filming in Australia.

Natalie is married to her Black Swan co-star, dancer Benjamin Millepied. They have two kids: Aleph and Amalia.

Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis, 37, played Lily, Nina’s new rival. She received critical acclaim for her performance and a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 2011 Golden Globes. Her other major movies include Friends with Benefits, Ted, Bad Moms, and more. Her next role is in the film, Breaking News in Yuba County, which will be released in 2021.

The year after Black Swan’s release, Mila and her longtime boyfriend, Macaulay Culkin, broke up. Mila started dating her former That ’70s Show co-star Ashton Kutcher in 2012. They married in 2015 and have two kids: Wyatt and Dimitri.

Winona Ryder

Winona Ryder, 49, played Beth MacIntyre, a prima ballerina who is forced into retirement. After Black Swan’s release, Winona notably reunited with director Tim Burton for the 2012 animated film Frankenweenie.

She has starred in the mega-popular Netflix series Stranger Things as Joyce Byers since 2016. She will return for the fourth season. Winona’s performance earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama in 2017.

Winona is notoriously private about her personal life. She’s been in a relationship with Scott Mackinlay Hahn since 2011.

Barbara Hershey

Barbara Hershey, 72, played Nina’s overprotective and intense mother, Erica Sayers. The year after Black Swan, Barbara starred in the horror film Insidious. She has reprised the role of Lorraine Lambert in Insidious: Chapter 2 and Insidious: The Last Key.

The Oscar-nominated actress also Queen Cora in the hit ABC series Once Upon A Time. She’s also starred in additional TV series like Damien and Paradise Lost.

Vincent Cassel

Vincent Cassel, 54, played Thomas Leroy, the tough and critical artistic director in Black Swan. He went on to star as The Asset in Jason Bourne, The Beast in the French version of Beauty and the Beast, and Antoine in It’s Only the End of the World. He was nominated for the coveted César Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2017. He starred in the third season of Westworld as Engerraund Serac.

The French actor was married to actress Monica Bellucci from 1999 to 2013. They have two kids together. He married model Tina Kunakey, who is more than 30 years younger than him, in 2018 and welcomed a daughter the next year.
