Bio:
Eric Berry (born James Eric Berry on December 29, 1988 in Atlanta, Georgia) is an American Football safety for NFL giants Kansas City Chiefs. In the 2010 NFL Draft, Eric was drafted by the Chiefs fifth overall after being a star player at Tennessee during his college years, where he was recognized by many as the best collegiate defensive back in the country. Sadly, in 2014 he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He went through challenging chemotherapy through the off season, and he came back for the 2015 season cancer-free. He was named to the Pro Bowl, the AP All-Pro team, and was named AP Comeback Player of the Year. Eric’s remarkable comeback was crowned at the 2016 ESPY Awards where he won Best Comeback Player.

Eric is best known for coming back from cancer to play in the NFL, and receiving a ESPY Award in 2016 for Best Comeback Player.
Personal Life:
Eric’s dad, James Berry played running back for the University of Tennessee from 1978-81. His younger brothers, Elliot and Evan Berry currently play football at Tennessee. Eric suffers from equinophobia, which is a fear of horses.
