David Alan Grier (born June 30, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American actor and comedian. As a film actor, Grier has had roles in Stuart Little, The Woodsman and Jumanji. He has also starred on the shows In Living Color, The Carmichael Show and Comedy Bang! Bang!. He competed on season 8 of Dancing With the Stars but was eliminated after 5 weeks. Grier will play the role of the Lion in NBC’s holiday production of The Wiz Live!
