Craig Strickland (born Craig Michael Strickland on June 2, 1986 in Alma, Arkansas) is the lead singer of the country band Backroad Anthem. The six-man band hails from Arkansas and released their debut album Torn on Sept. 4, 2015. They are known for their energetic live shows and have opened for such acts as Casey Donahew Band, Dustin Lynch, and Eli Young Band. The band formed in 2012 as a group of friends with a common love of music.
Best Known For:
Being the lead singer of country band Backroad Anthem, as well as for going missing following a Dec. 26 duck hunting trip in Oklahoma.
Personal Life:
Craig married former Miss Arkansas Helen Wisner in 2014. Craig is an avid fisherman and hunter who is known to travel across the midwest, primarily for bow hunting deer. Craig was declared missing Dec. 28 after going on a duck hunting trip during a winter storm north of Tulsa, OK shortly after Christmas. The body of his hunting partner Chase Morland was recovered immediately, and Craig was tragically found dead, too, one week later on Jan. 4, 2016.
