Anastacia (born Anastacia Lyn Newkirk in Chicago, Illinois on September 17 1968) is an American singer-songwriter. Anastacia has been highly successful in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, South Africa and South America, but has had only minor success in the United States. Her debut album, Not That Kind was released in 1999 and was a massive hit throughout Europe and Oceania, and achieved multi-platinum sales in Australia, New Zealand and Europe. She was awarded ‘Best-selling International Artist’ in 2000 and became one of the top singers of the decade. In 2005, she was recognized for worldwide sales of over 20 million records.

Best Known For:
Anastacia is best known for being a pop singer, and singing “I’m Outta Love.”

Personal Life:
Anastacia has been plagued with Chron’s disease, and she had surgery to correct her vision permanently in August 2005. Anastacia grew up in Chicago and New York. Anastacia married her bodyguard Wayne Newton in 2007, but they filed for divorce in 2010.

Anastacia was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, which she survived after treatment. On Feb. 28 2013, she announced that her cancer had returned and she canceled her European tour in light of her illness.
