Alessia Cara (born Alessia Caracciolo on July 11, 1996 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. Alessia got her start on YouTube by doing acoustic covers of songs by her favorite artists. Her debut single “Here,” from her debut studio album, Know-It-All, was released on Nov. 13, 2015. The song hit the top 5 in the United States and reached the top 20 in Canada.
Best Known For:
Alessia is best known for her debut single “Here” and for singing the theme to Disney’s Moana, “How Far I’ll Go.”
Personal Life:
Alessia was born in Canada, to Italian parents, with her mother being an Italian immigrant. When she was young she wrote poetry and acted in school plays.
