The drama began with a simple birthday message from Tristan Thompson. “Happy birthday, Princey!!!” wrote Tristan, 29, on Dec. 12 while sharing some photos of him with Prince Thompson, the now-4-year-old son he shares with his ex, Jordan Craig. “I’m soo lucky to have you as a son papa. Your heart and soul [are] pure gold. Your sister [True Thompson] is soo lucky to have a big brother like you to watch and protect her. Daddy Loves you, baby boy.” Khloe Kardashian joined in by leaving six heart emojis in the comments, and that’s when the drama began.
Trolls attacked Khloe for putting hearts “under someone [else’s] son” and told her to let Tristan “b with his son without u.” “@khloekardashian, why you not wishing him a happy birthday? Why don’t we see true with him.” This backlash – including the hate that many commenters gave Tristan for mentioning 2, in Prince’s birthday post – prompted Khloe and Tristan’s white knights to come to their rescue. “Khloe comes from a pure and good space, the hearts were fine,” said one. “People here are so damn salty,” added another.
“Wow, these comments under a happy birthday post for a child is crazy. It’s more negative comments then happy birthday. Happy birthday” added one commenter. Another wrote, “The world is full of sad people looking for validity on a post a father posted of his son and everyone have a better opinion on how he should leave his life and who he must post and not post at what time. He must now do things to please ya’ll with your dreams on how his life should be. Are you all done fixing your own lives? Is everything about you as perfect?”
“Gush!!! Some people don’t know what they want,” added another commenter. “When he doesn’t post [Prince], it’s a problem! Now that he does, it’s another problem. So what [if] he included True!! She is indeed his sister!!! Get a f***ing life.”
While some fans weren’t happy to see Khloe pop up in Tristan’s post, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star got some love from Tristan’s new team, the Boston Celtics. Tristan signed with the Celtics over the summer, and the Boston squad sent her and True a care package full of team swag on Dec. 10. Speaking of Boston, Khloe would “love for her and True to be with Tristan on Christmas Day,” an insider told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY. Khloe’s “trying to figure something out,” but because Tristan and the Celtics are hosting the Brooklyn Nets on Dec. 25, it might be hard for the three of them to celebrate the holidays together. “Whether that means celebrating a few days early or FaceTiming with Tristan so he can watch her open gifts, they’ll find a way to make it work no matter what,” the source added.
