Amber Riley Engaged: ‘Glee’ Star Reveals She’s Marrying Desean Black After Sliding Into His DMs
Congratulations are in order for Amber Riley! Just one month after going public with her new romance, the ‘Glee’ star is engaged.
Amber Riley is going to be Mrs. Desean Black! Amber took to Instagram on Nov. 23 to announce that she’s engaged to her boyfriend, who she just debuted on social media for the first time in October. It’s unclear how long they’ve been together, but these two are very obviously madly in love!
“There was a time when i thought I didn’t want or deserve this kind of love,” Amber gushed, alongside a photo of herself and Desean. “I’m looking at a man who changed my mind. My time by myself, loving on myself, getting comfortable with myself, prepared me for you, and prepared me for this. I am so proud to say I am the future Mrs. Black. I love you and I thank you for your patience, your friendship and your partnership.”
On Desean’s page, he posted the same romantic picture with a loving message of his own. “Fellas, when a woman looks at you like this, it’s a clear indication that you’re doing the right thing,” he gushed. “Now, when she delivers unconditional love that you’ve never experienced, it’s another clear indication that you’ve found the one. Only a fool would let someone as special as this slip away. So I did what any wise man would do and put ar ing on it. I love you to pieces. A King will always protect his Queen.”
Amber first debuted her relationship with Desean on Oct. 12, and revealed that they met because she took a leap of faith and messaged him on Instagram. Amber used the viral ‘how it started vs. how it’s going’ meme to show a side by side of their first DM exchange, along with a photo of them together. She did not reveal when the relationship began, so it’s still unclear how long they were dating ahead of the engagement.
This has been a difficult year for Amber following the loss of her Glee co-star, Naya Rivera, who died in a tragic drowning accident over the summer. Amber and the rest of the Glee cast were, of course, devastated by the news. However, amidst all of the sadness, Amber has found her happy ending with Desean!
