‘Quantico’ Season 2: Priyanka Chopra Teases Alex & Ryan’s Future & A Much ‘Darker’ Season

After months of waiting, 'Quantico' is back! Season 2 premieres tonight, Sept. 25, and HollywoodLife.com talked EXCLUSIVELY to Priyanka Chopra about what's coming up, including scoop on Alex and Ryan, the dangerous new threat and more!

Tell me everything you can about the new season!
The second season is definitely, according to me, bigger and better than the first season. The story is going to be different. Whatever you do, do you not miss the last 2 minutes of every episode, for sure. It will always be a clue or a cliffhanger for you to expect something even better in the next episode.

The second thing is, in the future, Alex is put in the middle of this massive terrorist attack, which happens when she doesn’t expect it. She’s the only one on the outside, and she’s almost pulling a John McClane [from Die Hard] in the show. And to me, that was so much fun to do. I do all my stunts myself. There’s a lot of action. There’s a lot of fast-paced, badass stuff that Alex gets to do.

In the past, she’s very rough around the edges because of what happened in season 1. She lost her best friend, she shot Liam O’Connor, who was her teacher, so she was really affected and her relationships with everyone is really affected because of everything that happened. Plus, she got fired from the FBI. There’s a lot of vulnerability to Alex when when she’s at Langley [training for the CIA], so to be able to play the dichotomy of the two is so much fun for me as an actor.

What can you say about the new recruits?
They’re great actors. They bring such fresh energy to the show. Plus, you don’t trust anyone because it’s the CIA. You don’t know anyone’s past, Alex is, again, in a situation of trying to figure out who’s on her side and what’s best for her.

Where do Alex and Ryan stand coming into the premiere?
They’re in a really good place in the present. But you know Alex and Ryan. They’re star-crossed lovers.

How does the season compare to last season?
One thing for sure is that the story slows down a bit this season. Plus, it’s gotten a little darker, which I think is great. The story is a lot more intelligent. It’s really smart in terms of the way writers have gone about creating the situations. There is more questioning why anybody does anything. There’s always an answer to every question asked on this show.

Quantico airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
