Last week on ‘Shadowhunters’, Camille the vampire attacked Simon when he came to her for help. Now Clary’s best friend’s life hangs in the balance, and she has to decide what to do: let him turn into a bloodthirsty vampire, or kill him. Find out what she chose, here.
Phew! The Mar. 1 episode of Shadowhunters was a doozy! Not only is Simon on the brink of eternal death, but the Clave is trying to take the Institute from the Lightwoods, creepy zombie things are hunting down former circle members, and Alec makes a shocking life decision. See our full recap, here.
Guys, this is almost too much to handle. First things first, Simon is dead. Camille murdered him when he came to her for help. The nice vampire Rafael brings his body to the Institute to try to help him, but Clary learns there are only two options: stab him in the heart and let him die in peace, or let him become a vampire. She does the latter because she can’t bear to lose him, but later regrets it when he realizes he’s just a “monster.” So sad! Also, Rafael uses saving Simon to overthrow Camille, and mend the vamps’ relationship with the shadowhunters.
Secondly, the Lightwoods are in big trouble. Right after Alec hides the Mortal Cup for Clary, his mom tells him and Izzy that an envoy is coming from the Clave to keep an eye on them. Lydia is that envoy – she’s Clary’s cousin, she tragically lost her husband, and she dreams of nothing more than leading an institute. She’s also terrible at keeping secrets, and revealed to Alec that his parents were part of the Circle, too. He was sooo freaked out! Magnus tells him he needs to follow his heart – so he proposes to Lydia! Not because he loves her (obviously, because he’s gay), but because their union would fix the family’s problems with the Clave, keep the Institute in their hands, and allow them to run it together.
Meanwhile, a gross zombie monster thing shows up at the Jade Wolf to attack Luke. Luckily he and the other werewolves take it down and alert the Institute, who send Lydia and Alec to investigate. Back at the lab, they realize Val is going after ex-circle members, and that this is some kind of magical hybrid. That’s when Izzy realizes it has angel blood in it, which means the Institute’s alarms don’t go off when it enters the building. She realizes this just in time to save Hodge, who was currently being attacked by the grotesque monster.
Things are getting INTENSE, HollywoodLifers – do you think Clary will get Simon to come around? Let us know!
