Reading Time: 5 minutes

Wow, this episode of Shadowhunters was a doozy! It all started with Simon getting kidnapped. Right from the beginning, it looks like Camille, a female vamp, is totally going to kill him and drink his blood. However, they need him alive for their plan – getting Clary so they can find the ellusive Mortal Cup. Clary is certainly planning to come, but Alec holds up their attack since all of the races have an agreement that they can’t without approval. Jace has another idea – simply attack and then explain themselves to the council later. Naturally Clary is all about the second plan.

Meanwhile, Simon is trying to talk his way out of his capture. He even gets a little bad ass and throws a dagger at the male vamp, Rafael. It hits his hear but does nothing, except upset him. Apparently Simon is just a hot girl magnet because now Camille is all over the cutie! She tastes the blood from a wound on his head and says. “I am so looking forward to getting to know you,” in her sexiest voice. Ohhh boy.

Alec is super nervous about Clary, and he’s not shy about telling Jace that while they’re looking for a secret tomb in a graveyard to find weapons. “Are you so desperate to get laid that you’ll risk killing us?” he says, accusingly. “You dont even know this girl! How do you trust her?” Jace is clearly unhappy with it, but then Clary finds the curious tomb marked “beloved servant” and they get distracted.

Learning to fight… or maybe love?

Finally, Clary gets a glowing dagger of her own, but apparently those things aren’t easy to use. Luckily, she gets a little lesson from Jace, and the sexual tension is BRUTAL. The blond hunk stands behind her, gripping the sword over her hand while he whispers in her ear “make it apart of yourself, and it a part of you.” Once she gets the hang of it, he explains “it’s saying you belong together.” And maybe the sword and Clary aren’t the only thing that belong together! When she uses it on her own, she exclaims “but it felt like you were still with me.” That’s when Jace drops this romantic bomb: “I am, I will be. We will be, there for you.” Eeeep!

Clary can tell Alec hates her, and we learn more about him when Jace explains why. “There’s no human bond like what Alec and I have. In battle, our hearts beat as one. If one of us were to die, part of the other would die as well.” Maybe that’s why Alec is semi-kinda-definitely in love with Jace.

Collecting Intel

Isabelle has her own way of collecting intel. She visits a hot former-hookup who is a fairy named Alaric. The pair have some hot & heavy half-angel sex, and she explains that his race can’t lie. However, she also knows he hooks up with Camille, and she uses that info to find out how to get into the vamp lair. Very resourceful girl!

Clary has her first face-to-face encounter with a vampire at a biker bar. Jace tells her to complement one of the vamp bikers on his motorcycle, but the guy does a weird charm on her that makes her obsessed with him. That’s when Jace busts in, says “you having fun with my girl?” (swoon!) and steals his demon-powered bike. Um yeah, that thing freakin’ FLIES! Thanks goodness Jace puts a new rune on Clary that will prevent her from getting charmed by a vamp again.

Simon’s taste for blood

Meanwhile, Simon is actually having a great time with Camille in the vamp camp. The two are getting hot and heavy making out when Simon sensually bites her neck and licks her blood. Camille tries to question him on the Mortal Cup and Clary, be he tells her all about how Clary can’t remember anything. That’s when Camille smells angel blood and knows the team is coming for Simon.

While Jace and Clary are heading to the hideout, Jace explains that to become a vampire, a human has to drink vamp blood – oh no! Simon totally did that – but there’s also other steps. He says that vampires get kind of high when they drink someone’s blood. Clary thinks that’s terrible, but Jace says “the point is it wears off, just like love” after he admits he’s never been in love before! Then he shares his true feelings about Simon. “What is it with that guy anyway, he seems a little unworthy of you.” But Clary compares their relationship with Jace and Alec’s.

The big break-in

Finally all four break into the vamps’ lair. Izzy and Alec fight off the enemy while Jace and Clary go to find Simon. Suddenly, the guy from the bar has somehow beaten them back there and attacks Clary. Then she gets all bad ass and totally knees him in the junk! Atta girl! After she finally stabs him, she seems upset about killing someone until Jace says he was already dead.

Rafael insists on taking Simon from Camille since she wants to kill him and they need him alive. He guarantees he will kill him once they have Clary, but as soon as the group of shadowhunters get to them he leads them to the rooftop and lets them go! “Jace Whelan, remember who your friends are,” he says to our blonde hero. What just happened?!

A major twist

As soon as they get outside, Clary embraces Simon, overwhelmed with joy to have him safe. “I was so afraid I would lose you,” she says. He responds by saying, “I would do anything for you.” Then it gets super intense! “I couldn’t live without you Simon, you’re all I have left,” says Clary as she kisses him on the cheek. Simon looks passionately in love as he kisses her on the cheek too and holds her. As you can imagine, Jace looks irate. And when Alec once again tries to tell him to watch out for Clary? He explodes! But when he asks “if you really feel that way about her, why did you help us tonight?” Alec pauses and walks away. Um, hello Jace – he loves you!

Everything seems good for right now… until we see Simon staring longingly at Clary’s pulsing veins. It’s going to get real in episode 4 next week! HollywoodLifers – what did you think of this episode? Let us know below!
