Before going into a full-on rap, the song opens with the voice of Daniel’s friend Joshua Holz saying the video’s featured lines “Damn Daniel” and “Back at it again with the white Vans.” Then all of the sudden, the track cuts to some pretty hard core rap! Believe it or not, the Vans phrase actually makes for one catchy rap verse! In fact, the rappers turned that line into an entire chorus, also mentioning Daniel’s black Vans and ripped pants. They made the 30-second video into a 3 1/2-minute track about Daniel, and we have to say — we’re quite impressed with it!
Unlike the video, though, there’s some profanity in the rap. But frankly, that makes the song sound even more like a Drake or Kanye West hit than a song about a viral vid! Listen to the song and see if you can hold back from bopping your head:
Shortly after the “Damn Daniel” video went viral, Daniel took to Twitter to thank everyone for making it famous. Who knows if we’ll be hearing his thoughts about the rap song, but considering how much we love it, we’re thinking there’s no way Daniel won’t!
