Kourt, along with Mason and Penelope, reportedly met a man named Chris Reda on Oct. 25 at Toscanova in Calabasas, California, according to TMZ. But, before fans start sounding the New Couple Alert for Kourt and Chris, a source EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com that this dinner was anything but romantic.
“Chris is one of Scott’s best friends so there is definitely nothing going on with him and Kourtney,” the insider tells HollywoodLife.com, adding that Chris was one of Scott’s friends “wouldn’t enable [him] or party with him when he started falling apart. When Scott would go on benders, or go missing for days, Chris was the guy who’d let Kourtney know what was going on. He really cares about her and the kids.”
Scott’s bud was giving Kourt an update on his condition. Scott checked himself into a Malibu rehab center hours after Lamar Odom was admitted to Vegas hospital over a reported cocaine overdose. Scott seemed to take Lamar’s near-death experience as a wake-up call to clean up his own act.
During the dinner, Chris updated Kourt about Scott’s progress, because he “went to visit Scott recently,” the insider tells HollywoodLife.com. Scott is “doing OK,” and is “definitely down about the status of his life and [how] he wrecked his relationship with Kourtney. But, for the first time, he seems serious about making some substantial changes in his life.”
Scott asked Chris to “check in” with Kourtney, and he let them know “Scott really missed them and was always thinking about them,” the source tells HollywoodLife.com, adding that Scott wanted his family to know “he is really working hard and can’t wait to see them again.” While that’s nice, Kourt may not feel the same, as she reportedly set all of Scott’s stuff on fire. So, while she may be happy to see him clean himself up, she may not be happy to actually see him again.
