How sad. Jake Bailey, a talented makeup artist who frequently worked with some of the top names in Hollywood, was reportedly found dead from carbon monoxide poisoning, reports TMZ. Sadly, there doesn’t appear to be any foul play in the tragic situation, although the L. A. Coroner’s Office has confirmed that they will perform on autopsy on the artist’s body.
“Mr. Bailey was found unresponsive by his friend at his residence this morning at 8:25 on the 2200 block of Holly drive. There was an apparent suicide involving carbon monoxide poison. There’s an autopsy pending. And the final cause of death are pending full toxicology,” Los Angeles County Department of Medical examiner/coroner; assistant chief, Ed Winter, tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
One of Jake’s most recent projects as a makeup artist was Selena Gomez‘s new album cover, Revival. Jake was such a sweetheart, and he EXCLUSIVELY provided HollywoodLife.com with an exact how-to get Selena’s gorgeous look in her cover shoot. Jake was obviously a huge fan of Selena as well, because he loved sharing photos of them together on his Instagram account. On Oct. 12, just 11 days before his death, Jake posted a photo of himself and Selena having fun at a photo shoot.
Plus, on Oct. 9, Jake shared a photo congratulating Selena on the release of her latest album, Revival. In the caption he revealed that his favorite song on the album was “Can’t Keep My Hands To Myself,” which he planned on dancing “unapologetically” to the song.
Another one of Jake’s most notable career highlights was working with Katy Perry, 30, on the Sept. 2014 cover of Cosmopolitan magazine. She looked completely out of this world! One thing is for sure, many A-listers will be mourning the loss of their friend and favorite makeup artist.

Jake Showed No Signs Of Trouble On Social
Despite the fact his death is being reported as a suicide, Jake was nothing but smiles on his Instagram account just 20 hours before news broke of his passing. A photo posted on Thursday evening, Oct. 22, shows Jake smiling and dressed casually as he poses for a photo outdoors.
It is incredibly sad that he seemed so happy so shortly before his tragic death.
