It seems like One Direction can’t make up their mind about the future. In a new interview, Simon Cowell reveals that they are ‘exhausted’ and their decision to stay together after their break isn’t 100% just yet.
Will One Direction ever perform together again? Rumors of a permanent split have plagued the band for a while, but they exploded when Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne confirmed that they would be taking a “break” after their 5th album. Okay, what’s up with 1D? First they were taking a break, then they were promising they would be back, but now their manager/mentor Simon Cowell has us feeling unsure about their future. On Wednesday night, Aug. 26, Simon spoke to the Daily Mail about their break… and what he had to say was not exactly comforting.
“I’ve known for a while that they were going to take this year off. They had to because of their workload,” he said when asked about One Direction’s break. However, when he asked whether or not they would get back together after the break he said, “I hope so, but like I said, it’s not going to be because of any pressure from me.”
Um, you hope so, Simon? You hope so? That does not sound definite, or promising, or hopeful. Directioners, are you freaking out like I’m freaking out right now?
Simon did go on to call the boys “loyal,” and he said that taking a year off would be a”healthy” for them. As many of their fans know, One Direction has pretty much been running laps around the world since they formed. Fingers crossed they find each other again after a year!
