“There’s no way she’d walk down the aisle with him without a prenup,” a friend of the Kardashian family told In Touch. “She needed to protect her and her children’s futures.”
Even though prenups are fairly common nowadays, especially in the world of celebrity marriages, an insider said that Scott felt blindsided — and exploded with anger — when Kourtney broached the topic during their recent vacation to Paris and London.
Despite Scott’s reaction, friends say that Kourtney has good reason (actually, 20 million good reasons) for wanting legal protection for her lucrative empire, especially given Scott’s recent bad-boy behavior. On Nov. 4, the father of two was spotted partying with Wilmer Valderrama at Miami’s LIV nightclub.
“They were both drinking and acting wild until 7 a.m.,” revealed an eyewitness, adding that Scott helped rack up a $20,000 bill. Only days earlier, Scott was spotted partying at NYC’s 1Oak nightclub and throwing fistfuls of cash into the air to “make it rain.”
Even if Kourtney isn’t thrilled about Scott’s wild and wasteful ways, above all, she wants to make sure that her children are protected financially should her relationship ever dissolve. “Kourntey needs to look out for Mason and Penelope,” added an insider. “If anyone screws up in this marriage, it will be Scott. She’s no dummy.”
