Sunmi found fame within the K-pop industry at an early age! Her South Korean girl group, Wonder Girls, debuted in 2007 when Sunmi was just 14 years old. Who remembers “Tell Me” and the track’s accompanying choreography? Sunmi put her music career on hold in 2010 to pursue academics, and made her debut as a solo artist with the track ’24 Hours’ in 2013. Her debut EP, ‘Full Moon,’ was released the following year. The EP’s lead single — ‘Full Moon’ even rose to the No. 3 spot on Billboard’s ‘K-pop Hot 100’ chart!
Sunmi returned to Wonder Girls in 2015, and the group ultimately disbanded in 2017. The K-pop singer made the switch to Makeus Entertainment, and she has gone on to release successful hits like ‘Gashina,’ ‘Siren’ and ‘Noir.’ Sunmi has been in the K-pop game for over a decade, and she is now experimenting with a more mature and bolder image. She has also been praised for being an ally to the LGBTQ+ community!
