Selena was born in Grand Prairie, Texas and got her start as a child star on ‘Barney and Friends’ before going on to play Alex Russo on ‘The Wizards of Waverly Place.’ She has released two number one albums, 2013’s ‘Stars Dance’ and 2015’s ‘Revival.’ For a time her love life eclipsed her career when she started dating teen hearthrob Justin Bieber on and off beginning in 2011. They were so popular they even got the nickname ‘Jelena.’ While they both managed to transition into adult careers after their teenage stardom, the on and off again couple officially turned things off for good in 2018 when Justin married model Hailey Baldwin. Selena has had health struggles, revealing in 2015 that she suffers from the autoimmune disease Lupus. Complications from it caused her to need an emergency kidney transplant in July of 2017, and fortuntely her gest friend Francia Raisa was a match. Selena has also revealed struggles with anxiety and depression that have led to several trips rehab facilities. She still remains a giant star, as the global brand ambassador for Coach and Pantene hair care products.
