Rory McIlroy, born May 4, 1989, is a professional golfer from Northern Ireland. He turned pro in 2007 at just 18 years old and quickly rose to become one of the sport’s top players. Over the course of his career, McIlroy has won 28 PGA Tour titles, 18 European Tour titles, and several other international tournaments. He secured his first major win at the U.S. Open in 2011 at the age of 22, and has since added three more majors: two PGA Championships (2012, 2014) and The Open Championship (2014).
In 2025, McIlroy reached a pivotal milestone: he helped lead Team Europe to a 15–13 victory over the U.S. in the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black, securing Europe’s win on American soil. His performance was key in the triumph, contributing significantly in multiple matches.
