Princess Diana loved her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, with all her heart. See their family photos here.

Princess Diana was and continues to be a global icon – known for her style, her humanitarian work with AIDS patients and landmines victims. She also broke the traditional mold of a Royal mother- insisting on raising Princes William and Harry as a hands-on parent. However, her life was not the fairy tale that it had once seemed when she married King Charles.

Diana often felt alone and unsupported in her marriage. Prince Charles was keen on resuming his on-off affair with Camilla after his marriage with Diana had broken down.

Tragically, the media attention that ensued after their separation led to Princess Diana being followed constantly by the paparazzi without protection from Royal bodyguards. She and a boyfriend Dodi Fayed were killed in a car crash car in Paris on August 31, 1997. Princess Diana was pronounced dead at 6:00 am that morning.
