Students hug at a memorial at Oxford High School in Oxford, MI. Authorities say a 15-year-old sophomore opened fire at the school, killing four students and wounding seven other people on Nov. 30. After over 100 calls to 9-1-1, authorities arrived on the scene, captured the shooter, and brought him into custody.

On Dec. 1, 2021, it was reported that the shooter would be charged as an adult for the crime despite being under 18. He was reportedly charged with one count of terrorism, four counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of assault with an intent to murder, and 12 counts of possession of a firearm while committing a felony in connection with the school shooting.

Authorities reportedly said the gun used in the shooting was purchased by the suspect’s father just four days before.
