Arguably one of the biggest rock bands of the new millennium, My Chemical Romance – Gerard Way (vocals), Ray Toro (guitar), Mikey Way (Bass), Frank Iero (rhythm guitar) – have won their way into the black hearts of emo and scene kids since their arrival in the early 2000s. With former members Matt Pelisser and Bob Bryar (drums) and James Dewees (keyboards), the group burst out on the music scene with their debut album, 2002’s ‘I Brought You My bullets, You Brought Me Your Love.’ The group surged through MySpace, the popular social network at the time, and continued their success in 2003 when they signed with Reprise Records. Their first major radio hit was “I’m Not Okay,” which continued to introduce their sound to a growing audience. Their third album, The Black Parade,’ arrived in 2006 and is considered a high mark for both the band and the emo scene of the 2000s. The band released ‘Danger Days’ in 2010, before taking a hiatus in 2013. After a one-off reunion show in 2019, the group announced a comeback tour. Three years after COVID-related delays, MCR hit the road.
