The strapping men who made their way down the red carpet for the 2019 MET Gala are just as worthy of consideration by the fashion police as the women. Sure, many opted to wear traditional tuxedos for the affair, despite the theme demanding outrageous displays of style. However, some gents came ready to play, camp-style, with wild and elaborate looks that challenged even the craziest of frocks worn by the ladies. Hunks like Harry Styles and Jared Leto are never ones to look traditional anyway, and they were among those gentlemen that allowed their outfits to be truly inspired by Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay and the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Benefit theme of ‘Camp’. It’s not an easy look to pull off, but these guys do it oh so well.
