Maxwell is best known as an R&B singer who made his breakthrough in the music industry with his debut album ‘Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite’ in 1996. He went on to release several other albums, including ‘Embrya’ (1998), ‘Now’ (2001) and ‘BLACKsummers’night’ (2009).

Maxwell has also won several prestigious awards in the industry, including three Grammy Awards as of 2022. He is also considered to be one of the creators of the neo soul movement in the early 1990s along with other similar singers like Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, and Lauryn Hill.
