Liam Payne rose to fame when competing on The X Factor. He originally auditioned in 2008 when he was 14 but did not make it through. When he auditioned again, he was put in a group with Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinso to make up what would become One Direction. The group went on to get third place on the show but continued making music afterward, becoming a worldwide success.

Liam himself is credited with writing many of One Direction’s songs. After the band decided to go on an indefinite hiatus in 2015, Liam pursued a solo career, working with artists such as Rita Ora, Zedd, Quavo, and more.

Tragically, Liam’s life ended on October 16, 2024, in Buenos Aires. He fell from a third-floor hotel balcony at the CasaSur Hotel in Palermo and was pronounced dead from multiple injuries.
