KJ first gained national fame when he joined the CW series ‘Riverdale’ in the role of Archie Andrews after the network chose him in from a four-month talent search. He was born in Auckland, New Zealand, where he also grew up with two older sisters and attended King’s College before starting his acting career. One of his first big acting roles was in the role of Kane Jenkins in the New Zealand soap opera ‘Shortland Street’ from 2013-2015.

In addition to ‘Riverdale’ and ‘Shortland Street’ he has also starred in the 2017 film ‘A Dog’s Purpose’, the 2018 film ‘The Hate U Give’ and 2019’s Netflix film ‘The Last Summer’.

He won a 2017 Saturn Award in the Breakthrough Performance category for his work in ‘Riverdale’.
