Ketanji Brown Jackson: Photos Of The Supreme Court Nominee — Historic. Ketanji Brown Jackson is now a Supreme Court Justice of the United States, making her the first Black woman to ever be nominated for the role. The distinguished attorney and jurist, who is 51, was born in Washington DC, raised in Miami. She completed both her undergraduate and law degrees at Harvard before serving as the editor of the ‘Harvard Law Review’.

She clerked for Justice Stephen Breyer and in June 2021 was appointed circuit judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. In addition to being a judge and scholar, she is also a mother of two, who has been wed to husband Patrick Jackson since 1996.

Following Justice Breyer’s announcement he was retiring in Jan 2022, President Biden revealed his plans to appoint the first Black woman for the role. On Feb 25, 2022, Judge Jackson’s nomination made news and on Jun. 30, 2022 she was sworn in.
