Joy-Ann Reid, also known as simply Joy Reid, is an American news anchor and political pundit who’s made her career at MSNBC. Reid hosts the successful morning news program AM Joy for the network, and has since 2016. As of 2018, she was reaching one million viewers, who proudly call themselves #reiders on social media. Joy was tapped to replace veteran anchor Chris Matthews in the MSNBC 7pm slot, in July 2020 after he abruptly resigned that March. She’ll now host The ReidOut, a news program airing weeknights, and will continue reporting and anchoring for the network elsewhere.
Here, Joy looks happy and amused during a panel at the TIME 100 Summit in April 2019. She looked sharp in a floral scuba dress for the event! To see more photos of Joy-Ann Reid, scroll through the following gallery.
