John Lennon made his mark on the music industry as one of the most successful artists in the world. Part of the hit British band The Beatles, John is credited for writing some of their most popular songs, including “Help!” “Strawberry Fields Forever” and “All You Need Is Love.”
After the band announced their breakup in 1970, John pursued his solo career along with second wife Yoko Ono. He was fatally shot in December 1980 by Mark David Chapman. John was 40 years old when he died.
