While being a rock star is a full-time job, touring is one tough gig. So it’s no surprise that even music’s biggest stars eventually decide to retire from the stage.

That doesn’t mean these A-listers are going out with a whimper. In fact, stars make sure their farewell tours are the biggest spectacles around.

Fans flocked from everywhere to attend Elton John’s final U.S. tour, seen here at Madison Square Garden in Feb. 2022. He played his last show on Nov. 20, 2022, returning to LA’s Dodgers Stadium for an unforgettable show.

KISS of death! After decades of rocking out, KISS decided it was time for their final tour in 2019.. and it’s been an ongoing project. This year they continued to play shows on their End Of The Road farewell tour.

Making sure to go out in a blaze, lead Gene Simmons announced the group was set to play another 100 dates before taking their final bow, during a June 2022 interview. Daddy Yankee’s La Ultima Vuelta (The Last Round) worldwide tour may be his last hurrah, but the party won’t be stopping until the very end. The 89-date show kicked off in Spain on July 16, 2022 and officially wraps January 8, 2023 in his native Puerto Rico. Foreigner

English-American arena rockers Foreigner announced their farewell tour on On November 14, 2022. The “Cold As Ice” crooners will officially hit the road in 2023 and the tour will conclude in 2024.

Guitarist Mick Jones explained why they came to the decision to Billboard. “Foreigner is a completely revitalized band with a whole new energy that has won the hearts of our fans all over the world, and I want to go out while the band is still at the top of its game,” the 77-year-old rocker said. “I had the idea that was to become Foreigner back in 1974, and I was 30 years old at the time. By the end of our farewell tour, over 50 years will have passed, and that’s a long time to be on the road.”

The Judds

The Judds’ Final Tour was announced in Apr. 2022. but tragically never happened. Just weeks after the tour announcement, mom Naomi Judd took her own life. While the farewell tour couldn’t take place, there were some special tributes to Naomi. Wynnona (right) and Ashley McBride teamed up for Love is Alive, The Final Concert in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Nov. 3, 2022.

The Judds were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in May 2022. Wynonna says she will tour under the banner of The Judds to carry on her mother’s legacy
