Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez may have finalized their divorce in January 2025, but during their rekindled romance, their families appeared to blend seamlessly. Between the two stars, they share five children from previous relationships, though they never had kids together.

The couple’s history stretches back decades. After their whirlwind relationship from 2002 to 2004 — which ended before they could start a family — both went on to marry and have children with other partners. Ben tied the knot with Jennifer Garner in 2005, and the pair welcomed three children: daughter Violet (born December 2005), daughter Seraphina (born January 2009), and son Samuel (born February 2012). Though Ben and Garner divorced in 2015, they’ve remained committed co-parents.

Meanwhile, J.Lo married Marc Anthony in 2004, and the two became parents to twins Max and Emme in February 2008. The singers split in 2011, and J.Lo went on to high-profile relationships with Casper Smart and later Alex Rodriguez, to whom she was engaged from 2019 until their breakup in 2021.

Ben and Jennifer reunited in spring 2021, nearly two decades after their first engagement, and their rekindled romance quickly became one of Hollywood’s most talked-about love stories. They tied the knot in a surprise Las Vegas wedding in July 2022, followed by a larger celebration in Georgia that August. For a time, their children were often seen together on blended family outings.
