Andrew Dice Clay has been performing stand-up comedy for over 40 years. The comedian began making an impact in the national stand-up scene in the late 1980s, and his first album Dice went gold and reached the 89th spot on the Billboard 200 chart. His sets are often punctuated by explicit, adult-versions of nursery rhymes, as can be heard on most of his albums.
In 1990, Dice released the influential comedy album The Day The Laughter Died, and that same year he was the first comedian to perform two sold out shows at Madison Square Garden. Despite his success, he’s occasionally faced backlash due to his controversial material, but it’s never stopped him from getting onstage and telling jokes. He’s regularly performed at clubs and theaters even since his heyday in the 1990s. He’s also an actor, occasionally appearing in a number of roles, but most notably co-starred in 2018’s A Star Is Born as Ally’s (Lady Gaga) father Lorenzo.
